ZICB CONTINUES TO SUPPORT WONS ORPHANAGE

On 6th May 2025, ZICB staff, led by Corporate Affairs Manager Mr. Luke Njovu, visited the Widows, Orphans, Needy and Sick (WONS) orphanage in Chunga Compound, Lusaka. As part of our continued commitment to community upliftment, the team donated food items, books, and clothing generously collected from staff members. ZICB has proudly supported WONS Orphanage since 2021 through various impactful initiatives — including the construction of a girls’ dormitory and the donation of an electric wheelchair to Ms. Eunice Shakami, the Executive Director of WONS. Together, we are making a difference.

ZICB RECOGNISED FOR FINANCIAL EDUCATION FOR KIDS

ZICB is proud to have been recognized by the Z’ Kidpreneur Academy for our contribution to financial literacy for children. This prestigious recognition was presented to our CEO, Mr. Ngenda Nyambe, by Z’ Kidpreneur CEO and Founder, Ms. Chimfwembe Mulenga, during a courtesy visit to our Head Office in Lusaka yesterday. The award follows the Z’ Kidpreneur Awards heldon 26th May 2025 at Pamodzi Hotel in Lusaka, where ZICB was honoured for its role in promoting financial literacy among children aged 4 to 17 years, a mission we are deeply passionate about. This recognition reflects the impact of a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ZICB and Z’ Kidpreneur Academy, through which we jointly delivered financial education programs to hundreds of children, empowering them with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed financial decisions from an early age. At ZICB, we believe that financial literacy is a lifelong journey that should start early. We remain committed to supporting innovative initiatives that nurture responsible, financially empowered future leaders.

ZICB FEATURES IN SOLWEZI TODAY MAGAZINE MARCH/APRIL EDITION

ZICB OPENS NEW BRANCH IN SOLWEZI  On 7th March 2025, the Zambia Industrial Commercial Bank (ZICB) celebrated a major milestone by opening its 22nd branch in Solwezi, a vibrant and growing economic hub in the North-Western Province. This landmark event reaffirmed the Bank’s unwavering commitment to deepening financial inclusion and supporting Zambia’s development in the mining sector, which is the most prominent economic activity in this region. What truly sets ZICB apart in Zambia’s banking landscape is its unique distinction as the only 100% Zambian-owned bank. All its shareholders are local, ensuring that the institution’s profits, strategies, and long-term vision are aligned with the aspirations and interests of the Zambian people. The major shareholders include the National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA), Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), and the Worker’s Compensation Fund Control Board (WCFCB). In a time when many financial institutions are either foreign-owned or heavily influenced by external stakeholders, ZICB proudly flies the national flag, embodying economic patriotism. Driven by Purpose: Vision and Mission ZICB’s vision is clear, the Bank aims to be Zambia’s leading provider of innovative, inclusive, and customer-centric financial services. Guided by its mission, the Bank strives to empower individuals, MSMEs, and large enterprises by offering tailor-made financial solutions that drive prosperity and sustainability. ZICB believes that banking is not just about transactions, it’s about transformation. A Digital-First Approach In a world increasingly shaped by technology, ZICB is leading from the front. The Bank’s award-winning mobile application has become a benchmark for digital banking in Zambia. With features that allow customers to transact, save, invest, and borrow securely from the palm of their hands, ZICB is redefining convenience and banking excellence. The app received an accolade from the Zambia Institute of Banking and Financial Services (ZIBFS), cementing ZICB’s reputation as a truly modern financial partner. Rapid Growth in Just Six Years Since opening its doors in 2018, ZICB has achieved what few banks have managed in such a short time. From a single branch, the Bank has grown its presence to 22 branches and agency banking locations nationwide. This remarkable expansion reflects not only the strength of its strategy but also the trust and loyalty of its growing customer base. The new Solwezi branch brings banking closer to the people and businesses of the region, unlocking new opportunities for growth and development. Strategic Growth Through Acquisition In July 2024, ZICB entered into a strategic Purchase and Assumption agreement with the Bank of Zambia to take over selected assets and liabilities of Investrust Bank Plc, which is in liquidation. This bold and timely move safeguarded depositors and strengthened ZICB’s market position. More importantly, it demonstrated ZICB’s capability and readiness to shoulder national responsibilities while continuing to deliver value to its clients. Recognized for Service Excellence In recognition of its outstanding service standards, ZICB has received numerous recognitions. Recently, the local bank was awarded the Best Service of the Year in the Banking Sector accolade by the Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS). This award celebrates the Bank’s commitment to quality, professionalism, and continuous improvement, values that are embedded in its daily operations. Conclusion As the only 100% Zambian-owned bank, ZICB stands not only as a financial institution but as a beacon of national pride and resilience. Its continued investment in technology, customer service, and nationwide expansion shows that it is not just building a Bank, it is building a legacy. With the launch of the Solwezi branch, ZICB is one step closer to realizing its vision of empowering every Zambian.  ZICB – Making tomorrow possible
