ZICB HANDSOVER 3 MILLION KWACHA IN EMPOWERMENT LOANS FOR YOUTH, WOMEN, AND COMMUNITIES IN MANDEVU

Zambia Industrial Commercial Bank (ZICB) has announced its facilitation of ZMW 3,064,000 towards the Youth, Women, and Community Empowerment Loan program under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for Mandevu Constituency, Lusaka.

This initiative, aimed at fostering economic empowerment and entrepreneurship, was launched at a ceremony held today, attended by key government officials, community leaders and the beneficiaries.

The event was graced by Hon Sheal Mulyata, the Lusaka Provincial Minister, the Mayor of Lusaka, Ms. Chilando Chitangala, the Lusaka District Commissioner, Ms. Rosa Zulu, and Honourable Christopher Shakafuswa, Member of Parliament for Mandevu.

In his remarks, ZICB CEO Mr. Ngenda Nyambe, who was represented by the Bank’s Chief Risk Officer, Thulani Muchiya emphasized ZICB’s commitment to supporting Zambia’s development by investing in communities that drive economic growth and social progress.

“This programme is more than just financial support; it is an investment in the future of Mandevu. ZICB believes in the potential of youth and women to create sustainable change, and today’s initiative marks an important step in empowering local businesses and entrepreneurs,” said Mr. Nyambe.

The ZMW 3,064,000 funding will support a range of initiatives led by young people, women, and community organizations. These funds are designed to stimulate economic activity, enable self-reliance, and help local residents achieve financial independence.

Meanwhile, Hon. Mulyata commended ZICB for its role in strengthening community development and underscored the importance of such partnerships in addressing unemployment and economic disparity.

“Today’s partnership is a model for what we can achieve when the public and private sector players work together for the good of our communities,” she said.

With support to this initiative, ZICB continues to build on its mission of driving Zambia’s growth through inclusive financial solutions. The Bank remains dedicated to collaborating with government entities and local leaders to further expand economic opportunities across the country.
